Q. The Computer I am building seems to have died, there is nothing on the screen and I don't think it has POST Bleeps?

A.  All computers should have some form of POST Bleeps, is the speaker
connected to the Motherboard?

I would start very basic, so remove all cables anything unnecessary,
leaving CPU, FAN, MEMORY, Video card and the power connector to the motherboard only.

Switch on.

If it works connect each cable up and switch on each time until it
stops working again this will give you your problem.

If it's dead we really need some post bleeps, but first try clearing the CMOS.

If it's still dead, ideally we would remove the Graphics card and switch on.

We should then hear an error code, if so this means it is the Graphics
Card causing the Prob.

If no bleep, remove the RAM, if we hear a bleep, this means a memory problem.

If no bleep then it could be CPU or motherboard, the only way to test
reliable is replacment. As normally we do not get beeps for these
items.

If you have no bleeps at all, I would suggest replacment were
possible, so If you have any memory that's suitable, try that in it.
Also a PCI Graphics card may be a good test.

This is the general test proceedure.

Obviously check any jumper shunts that you have moved, make sure CMOS is in the
Normal Position, make sure any BUS Speed or FSB settings are
correctly set.

Hope you get it going soon, try not to get too stressed. We've all
been there before. Have a quick run through the above then get back to me on how you got on.
