The course contains many extra curricularComputer hardware guides, that are useful even after the candidate has completed the course
Our Basic Computer Assembly unit offers a step-by-step guide, allowing the user to assemble the basic hardware components to build a fully working PC.
Our simple task format is used throughout the course allowing knowledge to built and skills to be developed progressively.
In addition to this every student is assigned a personal on-line tutor, who can be reached via email or by the telephone during office hours.
This tutor is assigned to guide the candidate through every aspect of the coursework and assist with any problems, whether they are course related, or hardware/software based.
The tasks are presented in a number of formats including video guides, OTeSS simulations, interactive diagrams and fully illustrated paper-based coursework.
Rather than focus on exact components we give a generic guide to computer hardware. This allows the candidate to adapt to new technologies as they are released on an almost daily basis. Having the basic principles and fundamental knowledge will allow the candidate to work with any computer, whether it be a Pentium 75 or a Core 2 Duo.
