Q. Outlook Express has stopped sending and receiving email, it just keeps asking for a password, I know the one I'm using is correct.
A. I would try temporarily shutting down any Firewalls or Anti-Virus you may have, as
firewalls especially can stop email, as it sometimes requires
different settings to be put in the server section in Outlook Express.
If it works without the firewall, turn the firewall back on and you
may find your settings need to be more like this.
POP Server 127.0.0.1 - this is called a loopback IP Address and
basically means your computer.
SMTP Server 127.0.0.1 -same again.
In the part where you put in your POP username, an example is:
you@domain.com#POP.ISP.com
There is then a box to tick that says, My outgoing mail server
requires authentication
make sure this is ticked and the username for this will be:
you@domain.com#SMTP.ISP.com
You will then need your password in both, try this and let me know what happens.
